Snacks, they are now called appetizers, because their vocation is to kindle appetite. Have noticed, in restaurants always put on a table small saucers with something salty, before how to submit an order. It can be potato chips, olives, a little hummus with vegetable sticks, pieces of bruschetta with tomatoes, canapés, cheese or a few pieces of sausage. This little restaurant cunning not only gives you pleasure, because these snacks do not even include in the bill, but they make you order more. Why? Yes, because all these raznosols and delicacies are designed to work on your taste buds, exacerbating the feeling of hunger. And the more hungrier you are, the more you will order.
Previously, these tricks worked with me faultlessly! But after a couple of times when I was physically unable to accommodate what I ordered, I came to understand how and what was arranged.
When we cook at home for a festive table, snacks are simply irreplaceable! With their help, the table seems more diverse, and guests have something to do with their hands.
There are different opinions about snacks. Some say that under snacks are understood only raznosoly, cheeses, sausages, jerky, olives and other that it is accepted to serve to drinks before to start eating. But there is also a classification, according to table etiquette.
Snacks are divided into cold and hot, and include a huge variety of recipes, most importantly, so that you can divide into small portions. According to the rules, it is customary to serve snacks as follows:
- Cold Appetizers:
- First on the table put snacks fish (sandwiches with caviar, smoked and dried fish, jellied fish, a variety of fish salads, shellfish and other seafood)
- Then the guests are offered meat appetizers (smoked or jerky meats and sausages, cold meat (jellied), salads from meat and poultry)
- Followed by vegetable snacks and snacks with mushrooms
- At last put on cheese assorted
- The sequence of serving hot snacks is no different from cold ones.
You, probably, like me, are curious to know two things: how about vegetables? and why such a sequence?
Fresh vegetables should be present on the table by default and they can be combined with any snacks at the discretion of the guest.
As for why this sequence is, it's all about taking care of your stomach health and boosting your appetite. For example, fish should never be eaten after meat or cheese, because otherwise you may become unwell.
Now that we know the basics and rules (I was also very interested in learning all this), it was good to go to the recipes, what do you say?
